Alberta RCMP has charged at least 13 people regarding a demonstration against pandemic limitations near southern Alberta’s major U.S. border crossing.
In a release early Monday, Mounties stated that they became mindful of a small organized group within the more significant rally at Coutts, which led to 11 detentions.
They state they had details that the group had a key to a supply of firearms and ammunition in three trailers. Officers impounded long guns, handguns, numerous sets of body armor, a machete, a large amount of ammunition, and high-capacity firearm magazines.
In the wake of the news, Marco Van Huigenbos, one of the protest organizers, stated a conclusion had been called to move out from Coutts on Tuesday morning.

Supt. Roberta McKale of the RCMP informed media about 2 p.m. Monday that while there haven’t been many happenings involving brutality, a probe began after a period when the initial protesters came. McKale told that RCMP started to receive information about possible threats, which took time to investigate and led to detentions on Sunday night.
“We have since made another detention involving this, the escalation of brutality towards the members, including having someone break one of our checkpoints this afternoon and just almost struck one of our members on the street,” McKale stated. Source – cbc.ca
